Narrow Gate Farm is located in Warren County in rural Middle Tennessee. Family members are Danny and Penny Jones and our children, Dreama (Kent) Leemis, Dillon (Jazlyn), Dana, and Breanna. Our grandchildren are Preston, Evelyn, and Sophia Leemis and Brimlee Jones. The daily farm tasks are handled by Danny and Dillon and all family members are contributors.
Our primary farm operation is a flock of over 200 Dorper and White Dorper Sheep along with some commercial sheep. We also have a small herd of commercial cattle.
This farm is part of a larger family farm which was started in 1948 by Danny's grandparents, Ike and Gelaska Adcock, and continued by his parents, Burton and Lena Jones. We are thankful for God's blessings which have allowed us to live here.
Our farm name comes from a verse in the Bible, Matthew 7:13-14, where Jesus said, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
We believe the narrow gate that Jesus is speaking of is himself. Other statements made by Jesus also tie in with this thought: John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.", John 10:9-11 "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
We love the scriptures that use sheep as an example of greater spiritual truths and there are many. Raising sheep has helped us see first-hand some of the lessons God has given us in his word using sheep to teach us about our relationship with him.
We believe the shedding of his blood and death of Jesus on the cross as the price paid for our sins, his burial, and the resurrection back to life of Jesus are the central events in all of human history. We believe that ultimately the most important thing in this life is having a saving faith in Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
